Kenneth A. Saucier Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund annually awards $1000 to dependents of sworn Seattle Police Officers. This scholarship was founded in the memory of Seattle Police Officers' Guild President Ken Saucier. Scholarships are awarded in June. Call the Guild Office for more information.
Support the Troops Fund
This fund supports those Seattle Police Officers who are military reservists and have been called to active duty. Officers serve in all branches of the U.S. military and are currently stationed all over the world. Most officers’ pay is negatively affected when they are on active duty. This fund helps support their families during a time of great emotion stress and depleted financial resources. All funds raised go directly to supporting an officer in need.
RMH Holiday Cruise
This is the 22nd annual Christmas Cruise and the third year the Seattle Police Officers’ Guild has been a co-sponsor of the event. Why indeed is it so important to provide a Christmas for children of Ronald McDonald House? Ronald McDonald House provides the home away from home and an understanding support staff during a time of great stress for families who have a child suffering from serious illness. The Guild helps bring the spirit of Christmas into these families’ lives. To learn more about how to volunteer or donate to the cruise, go to http://www.rmhholidaycruise.org/.
Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial & 10-99 Foundation
The Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial was established to address the special needs of law enforcement widows, children, and parents by providing both emotional and spiritual sustenance. A Memorial is being constructed on the State Capitol Campus in Olympia to honor not only the departed but also the living men and women of law enforcement, an average of two of whom will die each year in the line of duty. It also serves as a place of solitude and reflection for those that work on the Capitol Campus or for those that are just visiting. To date, 275 Washington State law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty. Its accompanying Foundation will provide personal and family counseling and nurturing together with financial support that may be modest in scope but an absolute blessing at a time of need. Law enforcement officers severely disabled in the line of duty will also be eligible for assistance from the Foundation. The annual WSLEM Ball and Auction is an event not to be missed. Go to http://www.wslemf.org to learn details about next year’s event.
